What a crazy couple of weeks it’s been… We adopted a pup from a local rescue shelter!
I’ve definitely taken a break from here for the past month or so.
And no, it wasn’t because of feeling guilty for giving up on the goals I’d set for myself earlier. If anything, it was to focus on those goals more. Taking more trips to the rock gym leaves less time for thinking about posting. Hiking on the weekends means less time in front of my computer. (Not that I’m complaining!)
It really is true that there is a sort of domino effect when it comes to making changes. In my case, trying to shop less lead to wanting to save more money, which lead to eating healthier, which lead to being more active, which lead to an overhaul of my weekly routines.
I know it’s about to be real wintery and cold up in here (New England…) and usually around this time of year is when I get more lax about my choices. But maybe I can beat the resolution rush this year and continue moving toward my fitness and financial goals through the whole holiday season! After all, more days off means more time to be outside, right?
About a year and a half ago, I was introduced to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey right before it was about to start airing. The first episode blew my mind. The next few months were spent getting all of my errands out of the way and dinner cooked on Sundays in time to turn the TV on and learn about the universe.
It always baffled me how few people at work had heard of, let alone watched, Cosmos. And when I told them about it, I was stunned still to see their complete lack of reaction.
This week has been rough.
I’m not usually one to watch what I eat but lately it’s been at the forefront of my mind more and more. After having a delicious thanksgiving-style salad earlier in the week (involving dried cranberries, grilled turkey, butternut squash and walnuts) the rest of the week hasn’t been as successful. There were IPAs involved (my weakness!) and definitely some beef chili.
After the Lululemon Warehouse Sale, I decided to get all of my ducks in a row to try and do as sort of shopping ban until at least January of 2016.
I knew that I was lacking in the basic layering tee department, and also that I had a pair of black leather-looking leggings on the way from Amazon. After budgeting for, and purchasing what I needed to keep me from temptation for the next few months, I’d decided that I was ready to do this.
I went to the Boston lululemon Warehouse Sale, where all of their stuff from the “We Made Too Much” section is up for grabs on the floor, but not until you brave the line that can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours.
I was pretty underwhelmed.
